This article examines the symbolic and lexical means used to express the concept of tolerance in English and Uzbek narrative texts. Tolerance, as a cultural and communicative value, is often conveyed through metaphors, symbols, and carefully chosen lexical items. The study analyzes how narrative strategies and language choices reflect societal attitudes toward diversity, difference, and coexistence. Through comparative textual analysis, it identifies patterns in vocabulary, phraseology, and symbolic representations. The findings show that while English narratives often employ individualistic and abstract symbols, Uzbek texts emphasize collectivist and harmony-driven expressions. The article proposes pedagogical and cross-cultural implications for understanding tolerance through language.
