Abstract

This thesis explores methods to improve listening comprehension skills among primary school students in English classes in Uzbekistan. It analyzes pedagogical, cognitive, and technological foundations of listening instruction and highlights the importance of listening as a receptive skill for communicative competence. Combining traditional and modern techniques, the study discusses models like Krashen’s Input Hypothesis and Bloom’s Taxonomy, examining interactive and technology-assisted strategies. Findings confirm that structured, engaging listening instruction improves both proficiency and motivation. Recommendations are given for curriculum design, teacher development, and educational policy.
