THE ECONOMIC IMPORTANCE OF INNOVATION CAPITAL IN REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT

This paper examines the economic importance of innovation capital in regional development under the conditions of a knowledge-based economy. It analyzes the role of human capital, research and development (R&D), digital infrastructure, entrepreneurship, and institutional quality in strengthening regional competitiveness and ensuring sustainable economic growth. The study emphasizes that innovation capital enhances productivity, attracts investment, supports technological modernization, and promotes the commercialization of scientific knowledge. It also highlights the significance of regional innovation ecosystems in fostering cooperation among universities, businesses, and government institutions.
