Maqolada o'zbek va ingliz tillaridagi murojaat shakllari sotsiolingvistik (yosh, jins, ijtimoiy mavqe, qarindoshlik) va pragmatik (hurmat, xushmuomalalik, «yuz» konsepsiyasi) jihatdan qiyosiy tahlil qilinadi. Tadqiqot Braun–Gilman va Braun–Levinson nazariyalariga tayanib, sifat tahlili metodida o'tkazildi. Natijalar o'zbek tilida qarindoshlik terminlari va hurmat qo'shimchalari, ingliz tilida esa ism va unvon tanlovi asosiy vosita ekanini ko'rsatdi. O'zbek murojaati ko'proq ijobiy, ingliz murojaati ko'proq salbiy xushmuomalalik strategiyasiga yo'naltirilgan. Xulosalar madaniyatlararo muloqot, til o'qitish va tarjima amaliyotida qo'llanishi mumkin.
