This study examines the effects of Retrieval-Based Language Teaching on long-term vocabulary retention among English as a Foreign Language learners. The study focuses on the role of active recall, spaced retrieval, contextualized practice, and corrective feedback in strengthening learners’ lexical knowledge. Unlike passive vocabulary review, retrieval-based activities require learners to actively reconstruct previously learned words and use them in meaningful contexts. The analysis suggests that systematic retrieval opportunities can improve vocabulary recall and contribute to more durable learning. The study also emphasizes the importance of delayed assessment for measuring long-term retention.
