В тезисе анализируются причины, ход и последствия Опиумных войн между Великобританией и Китаем в XIX веке. Рассматриваются экономические интересы британской стороны, особенности китайской торговой системы, проблема опиумной зависимости и влияние неравноправных договоров на положение Китая. Особое внимание уделяется концепции «Века унижения» и её влиянию на современное национальное самосознание и внешнюю политику Китая.
